On Wednesday 4th March there were queues of keen participants outside the computer room every break time and throughout the school students took turns on the computers in their classrooms. Our top scorer was Raquel H. from Year 6, who scored 15,395 points. She was also first in the number of correct answers keyed in in 60 seconds – 67 quite a feat!. All those who took part will receive a certificate for participation and every pupil who correctly answered 4,000 questions or more will receive a certificate Gold Award… there were quite a few! Many students are already asking when they have to register for next year and despite the competition having finished, are continuing to test their mental maths on the Mathletics web page, clearly showing the enthusiasm this event has sparked in maths. Finally, a special thank you to Ray Matthews and his helpers who really did pull out all the stops to ensure the computers were in order for the 48 hour event. |
