Building Works and Car Parking

Dear Parents

Building works are progressing well in the school; the new Boarding House is rapidly taking shape, and this week work begun on the artificial grass pitch. Once complete, this will cover much of the area currently occupied by the sand football pitches.

A consequence of building works is of course some disruption. We have so far managed to keep disruption to lessons to a minimum. However the construction of the new sports field has meant not only that the current car park / playground is now used more during PE lessons (facilitated by the installation of new basketball hoops), but also the erection of a safety fence on the perimeter.

This has led to increased congestion in an already cramped area, and I would ask you to please accept my apologies for the inconvenience caused.

It is hoped that the construction work will finish by May / June 2011, at which point the school will gain not only a new Boarding House, but also a large artificial grass football / athletics pitch, a smaller multisports pitch and over 60 additional car parking spaces with improved traffic flow.

I am sure you will agree that this is very good news for the school, parents and most of all for the pupils.

Thank you for your patience to date.

Yours faithfully

Elaine Blaus
