Family Fun day

Our family Saturday this year was bigger and better than ever before. I am delighted to announce that we made a fantastic 2016 Euros for Childbright Nepal. With the money that we have raised that will feed, clothe, educate and house 51 orphans for over a month. International adoptions have been frozen in Nepal and with this support we are able to keep the children and babies in a safe and caring environment rather than them living rough on the streets.

All our staff the Child Bright tam all worked hard to secure a fun day for all. Many hot dogs and hamburgers were eaten, cup cakes from the Mariposa Bakery were provided and there were lots of drinks and crisps consumed. A big thanks to everyone who donated raffle prizes and a big thanks to the generosity of our parents for the amount of tickets purchased. The raffle alone raised over 1000Euros.

Name the Bear as always was a very popular stall and many children won sweets and prizes on the little games and at the disco. The face painting team worked throughout the afternoon transforming children into Princesses, Butterflies and the ever popular Spiderman.
I was very impressed with the participation in the family races. It was a brilliant to see so many Mums and Dads competing and running with bean bags on their heads! The challenge has now been set and I have already heard that families have begun training for next year. Due to the races popularity, this will become bigger and better in events to come.

The most popular event was Soak the Teacher. Parents and children got great delight in informing me that who they had placed a bet on. It was a close race between myself and Mr Dominquez throughout the whole afternoon. In the end I won the final vote and took my punishment. A big thank you to Mr Dominquez in being very gallant and standing with me. I do however feel that "hide" behind me would be more appropriate!

At the end of the day and thanks to the glorious autumn weather everyone had a fantastic time. Not only was it a great opportunity to raise money, but it was a lovely to see so many children and parents having the chance to meet socially.
Many thanks to everybody for their continued support.
