National Curriculum Tests

National Curriculum Tests are taken every year by all pupils in state schools in England to assess their progress in the National Curriculum.

King's College pupils take Key Stage 2 tests at the end of Year 6. These tests are set by the official examination board and are taken under strict rules of confidentiality.  We send the completed scripts to the UK for marking by fully qualified examiners employed by the examination board.  Our pupils' results, therefore, can be measured against all schools in the UK, where testing is mandatory.

Each pupil is awarded an official "level" from 1-5.  Level 4 is the objective for pupils of this age in the UK, level 5 being the highest achievable for Primary children aged 10-11. We are particularly proud of the achievements of our pupils as the majority are studying in a second language and approximately one third sit these tests one year early.
